As of my last knowledge update in early 2023, Google has not announced or released an online web version specifically named "Google Maps Space." However, Google has provided various space-related features and imagery through Google Maps and Google Earth platforms over the years, which allow users to explore outer space to some extent.

For example, in Google Maps, if you zoom out far enough in the satellite view, you can see a view of the Earth with real-time cloud coverage. Additionally, Google Earth has a feature called "Google Earth Studio" which allows for the creation of content with satellite imagery, including views from space.

Furthermore, Google Earth offers a 'Space' feature allowing you to visit different planets and moons in our solar system. With this feature, users can explore the surfaces of celestial bodies like Mars and the Moon, emulating a space exploration experience.

To access these features, you can simply go to the Google Earth website or open the Google Earth application, and look for the space exploration options. You might find options to view the stars, constellations, and other astronomical features.

Keep in mind that new features and changes might have been introduced after my last knowledge update, so it would be best to visit the official Google Maps and Google Earth websites or their respective applications for the most current information and tools related to space exploration.

Google released a fun experiment in 2017 called "Google Maps Space," allowing users to explore various celestial bodies such as planets and moons in our solar system using Google Maps interface. However, this feature is not as comprehensive as Google Maps for Earth and has some limitations. Here's a rundown of the pros and cons of the Google Maps Space web version:

Pros:

1. Educational Tool: It offers an accessible and educational experience for users interested in astronomy and space exploration.

2. Interesting Visuals: Users can enjoy detailed visuals of different celestial bodies, such as the surfaces of Mars, Venus, and the Moon, and see annotations for notable landmarks.

3. Familiar Interface: The interface is similar to Google Maps for Earth, so those familiar with Google Maps will find it intuitive to navigate.

4. Free to Use: The feature is free, making it accessible to a wide audience.

5. No Special Equipment Needed: Unlike stargazing or using a telescope, Google Maps Space can be accessed from any device with internet connectivity without the need for special equipment.

6. Safe Exploration: Users can explore hostile environments like Venus or distant places like Pluto from the safety and comfort of their own homes.

Cons:

1. Limited Coverage: The feature has limited coverage of celestial bodies, and not all areas are rendered in high resolution.

2. No Real-Time Data: Unlike Google Earth which can provide real-time or recent imagery for certain areas, Google Maps Space is based on static images that don't reflect real-time changes or current events in space.

3. Educational Limitations: While it's a useful educational tool, it lacks the depth and comprehensive information provided by professional astronomy software and educational resources.

4. No Street View Equivalent: Since there are no streets in space, the "Street View" concept doesn't apply, and thus, the immersive experience is less personal as compared to exploring Earth.

5. No Navigation or Route Planning: As there is no need for real-time navigation or route planning in space exploration, this practical aspect of Google Maps isn't present in the space version.

6. Infrequent Updates: The data for Google Maps Space may not be updated as frequently as Earth imagery.

Overall, Google Maps Space web version offers a fun and educational way to explore space virtually. While it comes with limitations and is not a comprehensive astronomy resource, it's a good starting point for those interested in getting a visual sense of our solar system's geography.
